Ben Roethlisberger: A Super Bowl Winning Quarterback and a Person Giving Back to the City of Pittsburgh

When anyone creates a list of the great quarterbacks in the history of the National
Football League (NFL) the name of Ben Roethlisberger has to be
included. His professional career began with the 2004 draft. Ben was selected
in the first round by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Thus began a great legacy for
the city of Pittsburgh.

The first season for this gifted athlete was a great success. The team went all the
way to the league championship game. That was just the beginning. After setting
all kinds of records for a rookie, he led the Steelers to a Super Bowl win in
just his second year as quarterback. He had reached the pinnacle of success in
a very short period of time.

The list of records set by Ben Roethlisberger goes on and on. The most important one is the second Super Bowl
ring. A quarterback winning more than one Super Bowl is a rare and tremendous achievement.

All of this professional acclaim followed a great high school career in Findlay Ohio, and a college quarterback for Miami (Ohio). At both stops he was at the
top of his game and brought great success to his schools.

Ben’s life did not end with the completion of his professional playing days. He and his wife Ashley has concentrated on philanthropy as a means of giving back to
the community.

One of those endeavors is an organization called NeoLight. This
company distributes needed products to families with a baby that suffers from
jaundice. This is a no cost service which the Roethlisbergers gladly support.

The Light of Life Rescue Mission provides meals for homeless persons in the
Pittsburgh area. Ben supports this firm through matching donations. It is his family’s
way of showing how the city of Pittsburgh means to him following his great
football career. See related link for more
information.
